New Public Service Announcements from the NICB
The NICB has released a new series of Public Service Announcements. These PSAs focus on two significant issues happening around the United States: tow truck scams and vehicle theft.
The tow truck scam PSA focuses on a significant and costly national problem. When predatory tow truck drivers arrive, unsolicited, at the scene of an accident, and once they get your vehicle on the hook, the result can be thousands of dollars in towing and storage fees before you even get your vehicle back.
The other, concerns vehicle theft. Many thefts occur because the driver left either their key or fob inside the vehicle. The simple step of locking your vehicle and taking the key or fob with you could potentially save consumers thousands of dollars and one major headache.
We work closely with law enforcement at the local, state, and federal levels to investigate insurance fraud and vehicle theft to ensure those responsible are arrested and prosecuted.
These PSAs are available for use by media outlets and websites. Each topic has a 30 and 60-second version and is available in English and Spanish. These, along with our other PSAs, can be found on both our website and on our YouTube channel.
For anyone who needs access to raw files or audio files, please complete our media request form.
We encourage you to share these PSAs on social media and throughout your organizations to help consumers protect themselves against insurance fraud and vehicle theft.
