Man Sentenced for Staged Accident

The NICB provided assistance to a member company regarding a staged accident. Thomas White reportedly claimed that he was rear-ended by a U-Haul truck in Garland, Texas. Video surveillance obtained from near the accident location proved that White did not show up on scene until after the accident occurred. Confessions were obtained from individuals involved which proved the accident was staged and coordinated by White. On August 15, 2024, White pled guilty to felony insurance fraud and was sentenced to three years’ deferred adjudication.
