Car theft suspect arrested in Lakeway after allegedly trying to steal officers' car

LAKEWAY, Texas - Police following a stolen vehicle suspect arrested a Lockhart man after he allegedly tried to steal the officers' vehicle.

On Jan. 4, Lakeway police officers received a license plate reader alert for a vehicle that had been reported as stolen.

Officers were able to track down the vehicle and found it parked and unoccupied in the 400 block of Fantail Loop.

Police used an unmarked vehicle to keep watch on the vehicle in hopes of apprehending the driver.
