Man who claimed to be a burglary victim charged with insurance fraud
PAHOKEE, Fla. (CBS12) — A man who initially said burglars ransacked his home in Pahokee is now facing insurance fraud charges.
The Department of Financial Services arrested Kareem Abdulah Murray, 41, on charges of grand theft, insurance fraud, and use of a fraudulently obtained or false receipt.
Investigators said Murray filed a loss claim under his homeowner's insurance policy due to a reported burglary. According to the report, the insurance company denied the claim due to suspicious or fraudulent receipts.
